Wiggly Checks pattern takes my Wiggly Stripes design and rotates a copy by 90°.
Ironing out the Quirks
The stripes for Wiggly Stripes were much more random so wouldn’t have worked for this as they were. So I have simplified them by making the joins invisible and the foibles more evenly spread. I have also had to hide the overlaps in the pattern repeat so I hope you can’t spot them!
Colouring the Pattern
As with Wiggly Stripes, each of the 12 bands are coloured differently. I used theme ideas for the variations such as: Landscapes, Seasons, Textiles, Stone & Brick, and fun colour combinations from my previous designs such as Water Pistols.
Testing The Pattern Repeat
These full-screen versions use actual pattern repeats, set to repeat and scaled using my CSS style sheet. This is the ideal way to test if a pattern repeat works. It has the added bonus of there not being a gigantic high resolution image available to the world!
